Climate change by global warming, which refers to the average increase in global temperature, has become a megatrend that will lead to significant global changes in the future. In addition, people have become more aware of the fact that global warming cannot be avoided due to the continued increase in greenhouse gas emissions and the changes in the climate system. Climate change can disrupt food availability, reduce access to food, and affect food quality. For example, projected increases in temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns, changes in extreme weather events, and reductions in water availability may all result in reduced agricultural productivity. More extreme temperature and precipitation can prevent crops from growing. Extreme events, especially floods and droughts, can harm crops and reduce yields.
Climate change also have considerable indirect effect on agricultural land use in India due to availability of irrigation water, frequency and intensity of inter- and intra-seasonal droughts and floods, soil organic matter transformations, soil erosion, changes in pest profiles, decline in arable areas due to submergence of coastal land, and availability of energy. The book reveals that the climate change, its impact, relation to climate change and effect particularly on agricultural sectors and Thimiry Block of Walajapet. Moreover, the study indicates the causes of Climate Change have severe impacts on Agricultural growth of India as compared to the incidences of Climate Change happened so far in country.
